Berkana reversed, Othila, and Eihwaz offered their guidance for today.
Berkana is the rune of growth. There are times when our own personalities or characters get in the way of growth and development. At times, these obstacles are intentional (stubbornly persisting when the best thing to do is make a graceful exit) or are unintentional (tools aren't available or have the tools but don't know how to apply them). I had the tools and had an idea of how to apply them. Self doubt creeps in. And then, when you aren't expecting it, guidance appears. Now I have the tools, I need to practice applying them. With practice and knowledge, I will be better able to grow. Perseverance!
Othila is the rune of Home, and one of the items that makes a person's "home" strong is Grief. Grief is one of the learning tools we acquire as we go through life-changing experiences: birth, life, death, etc. It is endured or created. It adds depth to our lives. How we handle it is the key to if it is a hindrance or an asset. Do you grieve not knowing how to use the tools or do you grasp the opportunity to use them?
Eihwaz is the rune of Protection. A form of protection is Respect. Eihwaz embodies the Yew tree; very strong and evergreen. Respect the self and the Self. Eihwaz is the foundation of life.
Mannaz reversed offers its advice for a second night. Look to caring for the self by feeding the Self. At times, the Self needs to converse with the outside world. The easiest way to do that is through meditation. Listen to what the Self has to say. It will tell the self where it is wanting; what is off balance. Listen and take actions to bring the self and Self back into balance...
