When you draw Hagalaz the first thing, you can't help but wonder how bad your day will be. It was bound to look up when I brought wisdom into my day by drawing Thurisa. Odin binds them together with mystery.
Hagalaz warned me my day would not go smoothly. Disruption doesn't always mean something will be negative. The change may be gradual or abrupt. I had a variety of tasks I wanted to get done today. I knew they would be a challenge, yet they were my check list. I did pretty well, I got two of the biggies done! The phone rang, people came in and out, and true to the rune, it wasn't smooth.
Wisdom was evident in my writing for the day. I did pretty well keeping sarcasm out of my writings, which were addressed to a group who are contrary. Its like telling a fly why you appreciate its presence...
Then the mystery enters in to bind life to its elements. Planning for next week. Coaching an employee. Consulting a co-worker for help. Many things to do......
Berkana is the task for tonight. Disruption fosters growth. Look at growth, it is a change after all. How radical the change depends on the stage of growth... We must be willing to ask for help when we exprience growth so we can gain as much from our growth as we can. Passion for who we are and what we do can make all the difference.

My draws this morning felt like a major arcana draw in tarot. Strange. They were Inguz, Gebo, and Kano.
Inguz brings fertility, representing Ing. I spent the day with two co-workers and a customer. It was great to establish a firmer relationship with all involved. Rapport, trust, relationship, resources.
Gebo brings gifts one of which is trust. Communication builds rapport. Rapport creates trust...
Kano brings inner peace when it focuses upon relationships. Look within. What makes you happy? Where do you go to find peace: within? without? a place of strong medicine? where? Remember to feed your inner peace.
Kano reversed reminds me to work upon myself. My progress is reflected in my external world. In turn, the worlds of those around me are impacted as well. It is a revolving circle. It never ends.

My draws for today included Othila and Raido.
Othila encompasses the family. Many aspects of family and its associated inheritance intertwine with each other, weaving in and out. Family requires an honesty. Family also incorporates grief. I have discovered supervision is similar to being a parent. I have a family of co-workers whom I work with yet do not supervise. One asked me to assist in a field visit. Because of the co-working status, I needed to restrict my involvement as I had no standing, just that as an expert witness, if you will. The honesty and respect of family to keep my role secondary. Grief in that my co-worker is at a loss for advice and guidance.
Raido brings harmony. Harmony in an enjoyable day. Harmony in a relaxing day. Harmony in life in general.
Jera is the task for tonight. A period of time, a harvest, must pass before completion can take place. Because today was spent in focus on my knowledge, advice, and enhancement of my supervision abilities, I know the growing season has not finished yet. I am three months away from harvest. I know I am on the path to success. I do not know the ultimate end to my project. I am making progress, that is all I need to know, at this point.

Today's runes were Ansuz, Isa, and Mannaz.
Ansuz brings messages. Listen to the messages. Listen to the silent messages.
Isa, in its isolation, reminds us to address our fears. Are we afraid of stepping forward? Are we afraid of rejection? Are we afraid of acceptance? What are your fears? What can you do to address them, minimize them, embrace them and then release them into the world?
Mannaz needs loving kindness. Love yourself. Once you love you, all others follow.
Othila is the task tonight for tomorrow. Othila addresses our inheritance. Inheritance is family and home. Are you building a home or a family? Part of family comes grief. Let the dead die a peaceful death. Replace the death with life. Let life live. LIVE!

Isa, Wunjo, and Fehu guided my actions today.
Isa represents Issis and the self. When the self is drawn, an indication is present to distance oneself from others to focus upon the self. There are times when we need to withdraw and reserve our energies. I was able to spend the day focusing on items I needed to get done without the distraction of my employees. I also participated in a class which is much like yoga and meditation. A reminder to look within for signals to progress. Ask the Self. Answers are within.
Wunjo, joy, brings serenity. Are there things in your life requesting your attention? Needing a tweak? Needing to be placed upon the back burner so other areas can attract your attention?
Fehu represents things, assets, in your life. They are as abundant as you want them to be. Ask, believe, receive. The asking is important. The desire must be phrased in a positive manner. Belief is important. Use your brain to your advantage. As you believe in the things you ask for, you will receive them. Frame the question correctly, you will succeed.
Dagaz brings the light of day into an aspect of life that has been in the dark. The coming of a new day. Recognizing what changes need to happen or learning how positive actions in my life can impact the lives of those around me can create a fundamental shift. Judging others gets me no where, especially when I am unaware of their lives and circumstances. Is it the truth? Whose story is it? Changes are mine to make. Change is my choice to make. Positive changes are the best option.

Dominoes...
Each action has an equal reaction. Why aren't we taught that when it comes to our lives and our actions? Each of our lives contains many aspects which interact with each other in tandem, much like a jigsaw puzzle. Each life intersects with another life. When action is taken in one life to improve an area of that life, another life is changed. At what point in history did we internalize ourselves to take the herd out of the equation? Once the herd was removed, we became singular. By becoming singular, we forget to share our lives with others. Oh, we may get married and make the pretense of sharing our lives with our mate, are we really playing an active roll in that? Consider the divorce rates. Consider the fights we have with people within our lives. Consider the activities within Government. Do you really think our leaders would be behaving the way they are if they were fully conscious of the impact their actions and statements had upon the world around them? Would bullies be as vicious to their victims?
Instead, picture a world where you can focus thoughts and energy and project them towards someone else to help create a better day. As you change your life, your frequency changes. Frequencies are energy waves and like radio waves and light waves, they travel. As I focus on my life to open myself to gifts from around me, the energy changes and flows out to intersect others. As the waves intersect another being, that being's energy changes. If you could channel that energy, how would you use that energy? If you could channel your energy to change someone else's day, would you? Even a random person who passed you on the street? On the road?
Our actions create a domino reaction. How will you impact your world: positive or negative?

Uruz, Berkana, and Raido brought today.
Uruz reversed cautions to look within for blocks to using our strength. Refrain from over-reaching. Refrain from focusing on our actions too much as others and their actions impact our strength as well. I want to say that I earned a bigger rawel on my spurs yet the cause for me to think that also reminds me to pause as my success hinges on that person's actions and those actions are falling short of the goal. So, can I really put a bigger rawel on my spurs? Not yet.
Berkana reminds me I am not alone. There is always help. Help may come from the people around me; within; or above. Rapport is important when building trust. Trust is the foundation of a relationship. Relationships provide resources. It is the resource which will help me, eventually.
Raido brings harmony to ones life. Harmony is never a constant within a life. It can be, if actions are taken to moderate emotions. When the ebb and flow of emotions are regulated to reduce the spikes and plunges, harmony is easier to maintain. An excellent skill to strive for. I have neglected my chakras and that was reflected back at me today. Back on track!
Jera reminds that a growing season needs to be waited out before the harvest. Patience to wait. Perseverance to take the time and energy to invest in the item/task/person we are hoping will evolve into the vision we have. Wait on the will of heaven.

Isa, Kano, and Gebo offered advice for the day.
Isa appears as an I and reminds you to look to your self. Taking care of yourself may require you to pause and consider your actions prior to taking them. You do not need to be in a doorway to take the time to pause. The need to pause may strike you mid-stride as you are focused upon a goal and taking steps towards that goal. Listen to your body, listen to the little guide within, listen to whatever cues are telling you to slow, look around, reflect, and consider where you have come, how you got to where you are, and what you may need to do to continue on your path. Do you need to reschedule an appointment? Do you need to reflect upon the lessons you have learned so you can use those tools to help someone else? Slow, look around, consider your options, look to those options to see if you need to choose a couple changes prior to taking your next step. Step.
Kano is fire and brings acceptance. Change the things you can, accept the things you cannot, and work at knowing the difference. What are you tolerating? Of those things, what can you change? Are there things requiring your attention yet require you to make adjustments to yourself before you act? Accepting the need to make changes prior to taking that step is important. Changes to Self and self can make the being a stronger force. Use the time to build that strength.
Gebo is a gift-giving force which reminds you to commit to the relationship. Commit to the changes you are embarking upon. Commit to providing the guidance and tools to others, as needed. Even as you commit to something or someone, remember you can only do so much. The other being needs to make a commitment, as well.
Othila encompasses family. Inheritance, grief, and home are all aspects of this rune. As you build your home, you bring experiences, people, and resources from previous homes and lives with you. Part of your past must be released to make way for the new. Likewise, the people you bring with you may not have the same skill sets, needs, abilities, and other traits that may not fit with what you envisioned. As you realize this, it is important to not grieve over these characteristics as they are unique to each of us and are appropriate for each person's development even though they may not reflect our lives. Can you help by using the tools you have inherited through skill and experience? Your choices build your family and home. Choose wisely...

8 July 2011
Kano, Mannaz, and Ansuz provided guidance for the day.
Ah, don’t you love “ah ha moments?” My ah ha moment encompassed all three runes today. I went out for drinks with a couple friends and invited one of my employees to come, if he chose. He chose to join us and we all enjoyed our drinks and visited for quite a while. My employee and I chose dinner instead of the Bard entertainment (and more drinks). We went to a restaurant specializing in a local cuisine and the conversation turned to work related. I am learning something very interesting about my employees: they appear to reflect things about me back at myself. For example, my older employee is abstract in thinking and needs deadlines (and a list). The younger is learning how to interact with people. Kano provided me with insight into interacting with myself and with people around me by reminding me I am not an expert and to ask questions. Mannaz reflected the innocence of seeing through new eyes. And Ansuz provided a path to communication to myself through someone else. A coach once said that Relationships bring resources. It is true. It is even more accurate to say that Communication creates rapport. Rapport builds trust. Trust strengthens relationships. Relationships bring resources. Resources are the things needed to make things happen in life. The time and money I spent while visiting with my employee was worth every bit of success I can inspire this individual to create. My next step in this journey is to foster a similar action within my other employee.
My “ah ha:” I am doing what I am supposed to be doing. The venue or the employer can and will change, however, the basic work is right.
The task for tonight is Uruz reversed. Removing blocks from being able to see the good and show gratitude for the good within my life and increasing my ability to support others as they support me. A good task for any night!
