Today's advice was found in Eihwaz, Raido, and Dagaz.
Eihwaz advises to defend yourself. What a day for that advice! I had a tense meeting this morning, followed by my mid-year evaluation, and then concluded with another meeting. Uffdah! The meeting this morning was tough. Tempers flared a bit and no agreements were reached clearly. The mid-year was okay, even though we touched upon the earlier meeting and what I need to do to address those challenges. The last meeting of the day was actually a bit of fun. Keep in mind that fun is all relative! I do enjoy the people I meet and am getting to know. Even then, it is always advisable to have some form of defense for yourself. Stones, relaxation techniques, and silly putty are all excellent items to use. I have had a recurring dream that the ex decides to stop by the office. Not cool, not cool. And definitely not something I want to happen!
Raido is the rune of journey and that journey is a solo one. Surrendering to something is part of our solo journeys. I am not entirely sure what to surrender. Then again, perhaps that is exactly what I am supposed to surrender, knowing all the answers. I need to remember to take in some CDs of training I have gone to as a library for the guys to use. I know I don't have all the answers and that through my journey I will learn the answers that I need. However, knowing the answers does make the process easier. I suppose it is one or the other: knowing the questions and not the answers or knowing the answers and not knowing the questions. I know the questions I need to seek the answers for. Off to search for the answers...
Dagaz is the rune of daylight, of purpose, of patience. I am on the correct path, I am headed where I need to go, just need to persevere and I will get to where I need to go.
Laguz reversed is tonight's task. Water flows as it will, at the speed it will. Slow as a trickle, leisurely as a stream, furious as a waterfall; water erodes everything it comes into contact with. As it changes everything, it also feeds it the basic nourishment that is required for life. One must have humor as one watches water change the things it flows over, around, and through. It can be slowed, it can never be stopped. Enjoy the meandering as the drops continue on to the ocean. It never flows in a straight line yet it always achieves its end goal of flowing into the ocean. Water is one of the few molecules that attract other molecules because of its kittywompus orientation. It is not in a straight line, perhaps that is why it cannot flow in a straight line. Do not fight the path of the water. It will lead you to where you are going. Water is ever changing, just as everything around us is changing. We cannot stop change, even in death, we change. Embrace change and smile upon it and the world as you adapt to the ever evolving environment.
